Abstract :
We have developed a fuzzy combination operator ´*and*´, that can account for synergism among the items that make up the conditions of a rule. Usually, when the condition part of a rule contains several conditions, the global truth value of the rule is given by the combination of the truth values of all the conditions, using a combination operator (t-norm, t-conorm). Using usual combination operators, however, it is not possible to express the synergistic relations that may exist among the different items in the conditions, as in the expert´s knowledge. So, We proposed a new combination operator, denoted by ´*and*´, which can express this synergistic effect. When used with the usual combination operator, the ´*and*´ operator adds the synergistic effect to the area where it is necessary. Using this operator, it becomes possible to use the expert´s knowledge, representing it as a usual rule. In this paper, we explain the effect when we use the ´*and*´ operator for the combination operator of the fuzzy control rules.<>
