Expert systems applications to the office environment

This paper includes the findings of work carried out over an eight year period in the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI). Although it is based on `real´ situations related to operating power plant it is not limited to application in that industry. This paper sets out to demonstrate why findings in an ESI Procurement function, now part of PowerGen plc. may contribute to ongoing work that will have far reaching repercussions
