Abstract
When a phased array is used in a large bandwidth system, such as a pulse-compression system, significant distortions can arise [1]-[4]. Apart from depending on array system parameters, such as aperture length, type of feed, signal bandwidth, etc., these distortions depend on the beam pointing direction, and result in a varying mismatch to a fixed matched filter connected at the array output as the array beam is scanned. In this paper, an attempt is made to minimise the system output variations with scan angle by compensating for the array dispersion effects.
