  • Abstract
Multiplex models for speech and video signals have been designed and have been found to be consistent in that the state probabilities obtained as a result of the transition probabilities agree closely with the state probabilities calculated directly by aggregation of the channel models. The authors have endeavoured to produce multiplex simulation models to represent any combination of speech and video channels. When such models are added to a single observation channel, the effects of impairments caused by temporary over load peaks can be reproduced and the users´ reactions investigated
