  • Abstract
A simple multifloor multireflection and transmission model is used to explore the possible use of the 60 GHz frequency range for indoor cordless communications. Whether using vertical or horizontal transmitted polarisation the dynamic range between maxima and notches of field strength against frequency is not as great as first feared. Thus it would appear that communications within a picocell may well have to cope with signals with varying strength ranging only between 30-40 dB, at worst, and most likely within half of that range
