Abstract :
In this work, we report theoretical and experimental efforts aimed at understanding the efficiency of using the method of fs modifications for the fabrication of highly non-linear photonic structures in bulk chalcogenide glasses. Our theoretical approach is based on a thermal model that predicts structural changes inside a glass volume that has been heated above the glass transition temperature Tg after illumination by a fs pulse.
