Abstract :
In this paper, a local vortex model is proposed to study the coupling modes that occur at the interface between a right-handed transmission line (RH TL) and a composite right/left handed transmission line (CRLH TL). Based on this model, it is demonstrated that the propagation constants on the two lines are parallel, while the power in the two lines are antiparallel. Full-wave simulation and time-domain experimental results are presented and verify this vortex model
