  • Abstract
    This paper presents a study on a dielectric loaded folded half loop antenna operating at UHF (ultra high frequency) band for DVB-H (digital video broadcasting - handheld) terminals. It is an optimisation of the folded half loop antenna proposed in our previous work. The proposed antenna has a 43% reduction in volume compared to the antenna proposed in our previous work. This design also eliminates the in-band second resonance present in the previous design. Due to the ground plane independency of the antenna it can be mounted on any type of ground plate, thus improving the adaptability to different terminal designs
