Abstract :
In Substation Automation System (SAS) using IEC 61850 protocol, protection system is facing with risk of mis-operation due to mal-function of Electronics Instrument Transducers (EITs). A rule based approach is proposed in the letter to facilitate a fault tolerant protection system. Numerical simulation shows the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
