Abstract :
Balanced antenna was proposed to improve the wireless communication performance by reducing platform noise. The concept was implemented and demonstrated using a balanced antenna design and ceramic balun. Platform noise reduction was achieved up to 5 dB and 11 dB for broadband noise and narrowband noise respectively. It is promising to improve the throughput and range by employing the balanced antenna in laptop computer.
