Abstract :
The scattering characteristics of the LHPA are carefully analyzed using a method which combines multimode network theory with the rigorous mode matching method. The analysis results reveal that much larger total reflection bandwidth can be achieved with LHPA compared with the RHPA and the reason why the reflection characteristics of the LHPA is totally different from those of the RHPA. In this sense, the present quantity investigation justifies the presented multilayer left-handed grating structure is a new choice for the frequency selective surface with larger total reflection bandwidth and also provides guidelines for the design of the millimeter wave frequency selective surfaces.
