Abstract
The miniaturized-element frequency selective surface (a single-band-pass FSS) has been studied as building blocks of multi-band FSSpsilas. By appropriately stacking a few number of miniaturized-element FSS surfaces with dielectric spacers in between, a maximally-flat or dual-band band-pass response can be achieved. Despite their simple architecture, these multi-band FSSpsilas are quite thick (0.037rdquo in a dual-band arrangement). To remedy this short-coming, a design process has been initiated with the idea of reducing the number of the metal layers of the original single-band FSS.
