Abstract
It is suggested that an FM TCM (time-compression multiplexing) cellular mobile radio system (cellular system) can be designed with sharply reduced power requirements, enhanced modulation index factors, and decreased adjacent cell electromagnetic interference (EMI). The advantages of using TCM as the transmitting medium are discussed, the gain obtainable from its NSLA (nonsimultaneous load advantage) characteristic is described, the reduced adjacent cell EMI benefits ensuing are explained, and the basic architecture of a cellular mobile radio system is shown
