MPT 1327 standard data message facility

The development of the standard data protocols for the UK standard MPT 1327 for trunked private mobile radio will enable radio units to both transmit and receive long data messages in a prescribed manner on data traffic channels allocated by the network. The protocols are designed in accordance with MPT 1327 formats and procedures though there are several new features incorporated into the protocols, for example; data channel signalling, data channel addressing and CCITT X.25 compatibility.
