Abstract :
The authors describe the replacement of the main boiler controls at Oldbury-on-Severn Nuclear Power Station. The original station equipment was replaced with modern digital equipment based on programmable logic controllers (PLCs). The authors describe the old system and the need for its replacement, and the principles of the new system. They then describe the design features of the new control system and discuss its implementation
