Present day MESFET and HEMT technology coupled with expertise in thin film circuit techniques has allowed GPS to develop a series of high performance millimetre-wave amplifiers. The author describes the procedure used to design a 44 (LNA) GHz low noise amplifier with a gain in excess of 30 dB and a noise figure of less than 5.0 dB
