Abstract :
Distribution of electrical field over the lateral surface of MW irradiator for intracavitary treatment is considered. The irradiator consists of parallel slots on the lateral surface of a cylindrical probe. It is shown that the field is uniform along the slot and rapidly decreases beyond the slot. Peaks of the field strength are observed just above the slots in the direction across the slots (along the generatrix of the cylinder). To increase the field uniformity in the direction across the irradiator it is recommended to increase the number of slots and, if possible, the slot´s width.
