Abstract
The complete system described provides a powerful adjunct to the existing computing and display facilities associated with the section scanner. It provides a means by which a large amount of three dimensional and temporal data can be displayed in a single image, but also provides for user interaction with such images to allow the data to be viewed from different positions and also to allow for removal for obscuring features in the 3d model. The system described is used on a routine basis to help in the analysis of data from gated blood pool tomograms produced using the section scanner. As part of each study, a hardcopy is made of the shaded surface display with the phase and error data displayed using the three colour display mode. These images can then be used to diagnose areas of aneurysm and dyskinesis of the left ventricle such that the extent of these areas can be clearly seen and used to decide upon forms of treatment
