Abstract :
FM multiplex broadcasting is developing quickly. According to actual applications, the authors calculated the bandwidth occupied by an FM multiplex broadcasting system in conditions with different multiplex modulation index, different frequency deviation in main channel and subchannel. It is shown from the results that multiplex modulation index should never exceed 30% in order to ensure the broadcast is working properly. Another conclusion is made that the frequency deviation of RDS channel can be more than 4 kHz when RDS is working only
