Abstract :
Performance of a coaxially-fed monopole element in an infinite linear phased array radiating into a semi-infinite parallel plate guide has been analyzed in [1]. This paper describes the experimental effort and presents measured data for active input impedance and element patterns. The measurements show, an excellent agreement with theoretically predicted results. These results strongly suport the validity of the previously reported analysis, and furnish a firm basis for accurate design of an array of monopoles in a parallel plate waveguide.
