Abstract :
As preserved egg is becoming an important branch of egg processing industry, how to detect the crack on preserved eggshell through a fast and nondestructive method is an important segment of improving the quality of the preserved egg. This paper analyzed the different kinds of image processing methods based on the machine vision technology. It was concluded that the morphological image processing method was better to detect cracks on preserved eggshell. according to the characteristic values of parameters, this paper established a model of detecting preserved eggshell crack, and this detection rate was 88% for the cracked eggshells and about 87% for the intact eggshells.
