Abstract
Copper nanoparticles and microfibers have been prepared by solid state reaction using carbon nanotube (CNT) as template. Their structural and optical properties were investigated by scanning and transmission electron microscopy, Raman scattering and X-ray diffraction (XRD). With the variation of the ratio of Cu to CNT, interesting Raman spectral shifts and intensity variation are observed, and a broad photoluminescence background is arisen. XRD revealed the contraction of the Cu lattice constant in the formation of nanoparticles and microfibers.
