Abstract
The 12th International Conference on Application of Concurrency to System Design (ACSD 2012) is a forum for the development of leading research in concurrent systems, where the synergy between theory and practice is explored. The main aim of the conference is to bring theory and practice closer together by informing practitioners of the latest theoretical results, and challenging theoreticians with complex industrial problems. It therefore welcomes both academic and industrial participants. This year, the conference will be held in Hamburg, Germany, on 25-29 June 2012 and is the successor of the conference held in Newcastle, United Kingdom, on 20-24 July 2011. The conference is organised in conjunction with the 33rd International Conference on Application and Theory of Petri Nets and Other Models of Concurrency (Petri Nets 2012). Both conferences share a set of invited lectures on hot topics by leading researchers: Tony Hoare, Joost-Pieter Katoen, Alain Finkel, Jens Spars?? and Bart Jacobs. ACSD 2012 attracted 60 abstract submissions, of which 48 were completed. Each submission was peer-reviewed by at least four members of the Programme Committee and/or external reviewers. Each submission received at least 4 reviews, and each paper was individually discussed online by the program committee. Altogether, 153 reviews were written. Following the programme committee discussion and the final vote, 20 papers were accepted for presentation at the conference and publication in the proceedings.
