Route guidance information by beacons or radio

This paper presents an assessment of leading technology options for providing route guidance and information to drivers. It builds on work being carried out within the EC DRIVE RDS-ALERT project, towards pan-European standardization of the Radio Data System Traffic Message Channel. It also draws on the results of a study carried out for the Rijkswaterstaat on dynamic route guidance systems for the Amsterdam metropolitan area
