Abstract
The authors proposed a way to control the emission directionality of a stadium shaped microlaser by introducing an circular vacancy within the cavity. These investigations are implemented on the basis of polymer technology, which offers such benefits as flexibility, low cost, and compatibility with a wide range of materials. Experimental results are supported by ray simulations for a stadium with suitably positioned air holes that demonstrate the feasibility and the potential of this concept.
