Abstract :
ASSESS was developed to evaluate and select the best application that requires an expert system component. ASSESS, an expert system itself, works on many levels (company, department, and application), each across many disciplines (business, organizational, and technical). Intelligently querying a user during a consultation allows many alternative potential application choices to be compared. The results are quantified, and the final recommendations are presented and interpreted along with their justifications. ASSESS provides the application selection expertise required for a systematic and consistent application assessment study
