Abstract

A new technology must satisfy three major criteria before it becomes accepted into the mainstream of product development: It must meet a real market need; the technology must be capable of volume manufacture; the components and products must be widely available to well defined standards. Until recently, Wafer Scale Integration met none of these criteria. However, the author shows that, in recent months, circumstances have changed dramatically
