Abstract :
Vehicle for Automation Research and Underwater Navigation, VARUN is an autonomous underwater vehicle designed and developed by undergraduate students of Delhi Technological University, New Delhi. It is designed with a focus on shallow water applications in defense such as mine countermeasures, surveillance and reconnaissance and civilian applications at ports, in ship maintenance and in marine research. The development of the vehicle involves a multi-disciplinary approach with engineers from electronics, mechanical, information technology and production engineering.
