The paper has been written following an investigation the author has been conducting in control since November 1990. It is not a research paper nor a literature review. It is an outline of thoughts of others and the author´s observations during the course of his investigations. The purpose of this paper is to suggest that by widening the scope of `real control problems´ beyond that of the difficulties associated with, then it is possible to embrace a class of problem that is intellectually rewarding if not so academically rigorous
