Abstract :
Examines the changes in the methods of video post production. SVC Television built one of the first off-line editing suites. They also found the need to build a cross-fire type telecine to transfer from film to U-matic, the rushes for the edit. It has been suggested that the video camera gave superior quality and therefore would supercede film before the end of the 1980s. However, commercials are still being shot on 35 mm film. That film would be used to transfer cutting copies to U-matic video tape
