Abstract :
Outlines the reasons why film´s role will intensify, and Kodak´s work to add another dimension to the situation. That is the development of advanced systems based on scanners, laser writers, optics and digital processing. Systems that exploit the best combinations of film and video technology. The new generation of EXR motion picture films and a CCD HDTV telecine were developed to support film origination in the era of HDTV. The telecine was designed to translate film´s superior image quality to any of the proposed HDTV standards. Another development is the high resolution digital image manipulation system for motion picture film, called the High Resolution Electronic Intermediate System
