  • Abstract
In this paper, a distributed power adjustment algorithm for downlink Long Term Evoluation (LTE) mobile networks is proposed, in which the Quality of Service (QoS) requirement is taken into account. By tailoring the downlink transmit power to match the aggregate service requirement, it is possible to eliminate unnecessary power, and thereby reducing inter-cell interference to the neighbouring cells. The reduction of inter-cell interference further lowers the required power to meet a certain QoS target. Simulation results have shown that such an approach can significantly reduce the energy consumption with negligible impact on the system performance.
