Abstract :
When the location information is available, this paper presents the PHY strategies which can be applied to improve the performance of a beamforming system and support multiple access with low feedback requirement. Based on a system providing real-time 3D coordinate information of all terminals in the environment, feedback-free and low feedback multi-user schedulers are considered. The location-based schedulers are evaluated with both perfect and imperfect position information and the sensitivity of the system to location errors are measured in terms of both rate and fairness performance based on statistics of commercial GPS receivers.
