Abstract :
The author discusses fundamental biomembrane properties and the application of such membranes in biosensors. Lipid bilayers and membrane proteins involved in transfer mechanisms are examined. Classes of transport mechanism are illustrated. The reconstitution of transport system types is discussed for non-biological environments
