Abstract
The authors discuss modification of quartz crystal resonant oscillator surfaces by appropriate organic compounds leading to development of biosensors. The essential feature of quartz crystal biosensors is that they respond to the structural changes consequent on the analyte-sensor molecule binding process. They can be unique sensitive detectors of bio-interactions provided the responses are properly interpreted
