Abstract :
Thermal effects in two-dimensional individually addressable and phase-locked arrays of vertical-cavity surface-emitting diode lasers are analyzed for the first time. Severe thermal crosstalk occurs even at relatively low pumping currents. Conditions are identified for negligible-crosstalk configurations.
