Abstract :
In this paper, a group policy based automatic control architecture is presented for the management of virtual private network (VPN). This network architecture splits the management view into parallel hierarchies. The architecture builds its security policy on resource groups. By utilizing a centralized policy server, the procedures for policy translating, distributing and monitoring are automatically completed and the VPN devices are uniformly managed. Comparing to the device based management architecture, the provided architecture has the advantages of clear structure, simple setup and high expand ability. It can also be adapted into a broad range of applications.
