    The paper concerns itself with on going work on the modelling of a tunnel kiln, allowing the transient nature of heating within the chinaware itself to be investigated and controlled. The model currently incorporates diffusion within the ware, convection and radiation effects. Phase changes within the ware are also being incorporated
