Abstract
An overview of important technical issues associated with the reliability and fault tolerance of intelligent computing systems is presented. Four specific topics are covered, including : (1) fundamental concepts in fault-tolerant computing, (2) dependability measures, (3) fault tolerance in real-time systems, and (4) fault tolerance in neural networks. Basic concepts in fault-tolerant computing and dependability analysis are discussed, with a specific focus on fault tolerance and analysis of real-time systems and neural networks
