Abstract :
Wideband antennas are finding increasing application in the detection of electromagnetic interference, signals surveillance, the transmission and reception of short duration pulses, frequency hopping radar systems and multichannel discrete frequency communications. The principal broadband radiating elements used to date are `broadside´ radiating spiral antennas, `endfire´ log-periodic arrays and tapered slotline geometries. This contribution is concerned with the latter group of antennas which includes linearly tapered (LTSA), exponentially tapered (Vivaldi) or constant width (CWSA) slotline sections
