International ISDN products and interoperability with other suppliers

The author starts by discussing the IBM strategy on ISDN products. He presents some products that IBM has released into the marketplace together with some statements of direction that have been issued. Next he discusses connectivity of ISDN products, which is seen as of paramount importance by customers, and shows some examples of applications which have been or are being written to exploit the benefits of ISDN. In the fourth item he discusses application programming interfaces, showing some of the difficulties in deciding which direction to take on this subject and IBM´s response to this challenging topic. The fifth subject is the problem of network interconnection with regard to differing country implementations of ISDN, tariffing, features etc. Finally, he shares some of the conclusions they have drawn from their experience thus far in ISDN products and their marketplace
