Abstract
Profitability, reliability and productivity (output) of cutting processes, on the whole, depend on the service characteristics of the cutting tool. The main characteristics of the cutting tool are wear resistance and heat resistance with sufficient strength and plasticity. Therefore, the problems of wear resistance of tools for conditions of cutting always demand urgency, despite plenty of new instrumental materials and methods of increasing their wear resistance, which have appeared over recent. Thus, a new high wear resistant high-speed steel for nongrinding tools has been developed by the authors and is described in this paper
