Abstract
Discusses the use of electronic mail and electronic data interchange (EDI). Electronic mail is more convenient than ordinary mail, as letters are sent direct from a word processing package to an electronic mailbox. Provided that the Packet Switched Service is used, all calls using (Telecom Gold) are charged at the local rate. EDI is a means by which organisation are able to exchange information between themselves without the need for paper. Most existing accounting packages can be integrated into an EDI package with only limited modification
