Abstract :
An access optical network based on 10Gb/s DML and R-EAM-SOA as transmitters was experimentally tested with a centralized MLSE equalizer to compensate for the chirp, dispersion and RB. Several scenarios were studied and results indicate that the fibre distance reach can be improved by 50% with the use of MLSE and FEC.
