Abstract :
At the moment the low-voltage commutator machines (LVCM) are widely used in domestic appliances (kitchen machine, electro-driven tools, vacuum cleaner). There is a peculiarity of low-voltage commutator machine: the auxiliary poles cannot be used because of the dimension limits. The author describes how these problems can be solved by the use of the so-called damped armature windings which possess higher switching ability. The characteristic feature of such armature windings is the high electromagnetic linking between all switching sections and the next (in order of switching) sections. At the same time, the winding section inductance value decreases because of splitting it to two coils and their placement in different slot pitches of the armature
