Abstract :
A description of the necessary changes to the NEC program required to produce an infinite array wire grid modelling program is given. It has been used to produce plots of active match for given element descriptions. Convergence and convergence testing have been discussed as have the problems caused by surface waves. output produced by both the finite and infinite techniques have been compared and were found to be very similar. Their relative merits with regard to computation time and memory usage have also been discussed. It should be remembered that whilst the technique does not always converge, failure to converge in itself gives vital information, warning as it does of the presence of surface waves and the possibility of scan blindness occurring
