Radiating elements for wide-scanned arrays

Describes work carried out jointly by GEC-Marconi Research Centre and GEC-Ferranti on the design of waveguide radiating elements. During this work software has been written for the analysis of rectangular and circular elements in infinite arrays. By placing this analytical tool within an optimisation loop it has been possible to tune some element designs to minimise the variation of reflection coefficient with scan angle and frequency
