Abstract :
It is sometimes necessary to measure the inductance of a large iron cured inductor at current levels such that saturation is present to some degree. An example is a DC link choke for which incremental inductance at the rated mean current is the pertinent parameter. Another example is the phase inductance of an AC machine. This paper describes a relatively simple low input power circuit which is able to make the desired measurement using high current pulses and an electronic integrator
