Application of multibody systems techniques to vehicle modelling
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
The objectives of the present work is to give an overview of multibody systems (MBS) modelling techniques with respect primarily to: historical developments; mathematical formalisms; and computer implementations. A MBS is defined as a mechanical system with many degrees of freedom. MBS modeling techniques can be used to perform the analysis and design studies of any mechanical system which can be modelled as a set of rigid bodies interconnected by joints, influenced by forces, driven by prescribed motion and restricted by constraints
