Abstract
The XFIfR acousto-optical spectrometer has a bandwidth of 992 MHz and a 1.7 MHz resolution. Using a heterodyne receiver we obtained laboratory spectra of the CO(12 - 11) rotational transition. The pressure broadening parameter of this line was determined to be 2.59(16) MHz/Torr. The AOS was also flown on board the Kuiper Airborne Observatory and performed just as well as in the laboratory.
